NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA - For the second straight year, Cleora Schools is the only school in the far corner of the state to receive top marks.
The Oklahoma state report card indicates how individual schools perform in several areas and includes student demographic information.
According to the state report card, 698,923 students were enrolled in Oklahoma schools during the 2023-24 school year. The report card includes information and grades for academic achievement and academic growth and graduation data.
The rural Delaware County school has 162 students from pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade and scored an overall grade of A for the 2023-2024 school year. After eighth grade, students transfer to Grove, Miami, Kethum, Afton, and Fairland to finish their academic careers.
Cleora consistently ranks at the top of the state for the percentage of students achieving high marks taking the year-end tests known as the Oklahoma School Testing Program.
The high schools in the largest school districts of Grove and Vinita scored an overall grade of C, with five schools scoring a D or lower.
Area high schools also had two additional categories - English language proficiency progress and graduation.
