Woman's July death in St. Louis now ruled a homicide
A medical examiner's office working in tandem with St. Louis police has ruled a woman's death in July as a homicide, nearly half a year later.
ST. LOUIS - A medical examiner's office working in tandem with St. Louis police has ruled a woman's death in July as a homicide, nearly half a year later.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has identified the victim as 36-year-old Lisa Smith.
According to a SLMPD crime summary report, Smith was found seriously injured on July 24 in St. Louis' Carondelet neighborhood. She was found around 10 p.m. in the 300 block of Bellerive Boulevard with apparent traumatic injuries.
Initial findings in the investigation suggest that Smith may have been struck by a car. However, investigators are still analyzing evidence to determine the circumstances of her death.
