A Mountiain Lion is friends with ordinary house cats
Researchers are baffled after a mountain lion was spotted traveling through the wild with ordinary house cats by its side.
After several unusual sightings like this throughout the year, the latest pair quickly divided people online. Some feared the mountain lion was simply keeping the cat around until it eventually became a meal, while others believed the big cat had somehow decided to protect it as one of its own.
But this mountain lion wasn’t completely wild. His name was Max, and after being rescued as a cub, he’d grown up at a sanctuary alongside a domestic cat before eventually being released back into the wild.
Nobody knows exactly how Max found his new little companions, but the flock have repeatedly been spotted traveling together. People who learned about his unusual childhood had a much simpler explanation: maybe Max doesn’t realize he’s a mountain lion.
Maybe he just thinks he’s a really, really big cat.
