Beware of recent text scam targeting Ozarks residents
Police in the Ozarks are warning the public to be aware of a new text scam and to not click anything or block the sender.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Mo. — A new text scam has reached the Ozarks, and police warn the public not to be fooled.
The text scam, seen below, has been reported in the Ozarks.
Law enforcement agencies like the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) say not to click anything and to block the sender.
"The prosecutor has assured me he is not after me lol," said Sheriff Chris DeGase after the scam was texted to him in a post from the DCSO Facebook page.
