Billy Long to serve as IRS commissioner under Trump administration

KSNF/KODE — Former congressman Billy Long is joining the Trump administration.

Earlier this evening, President-elect Donald Trump announced he was naming Long to serve as the commissioner of the IRS.

Long served as congressman for the 7th congressional district in Missouri for 12 years, representing the Joplin and Springfield areas.

He took over the seat in 2010 after winning the election, but announced he wouldn't run for re-election in 2022 in order to run for Senate.

Long lost that race to Eric Schmitt.

Since then, he has worked as a business and tax advisor.
