CRAWFORD COUNTY, Kan. — A Walnut, Kansas man reaches a plea deal in a drunk driving hit-and-run involving patrol vehicles.
This morning in a Crawford County courtroom, Austin Lallemand, 25, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and one count of driving under the influence.
As part of the plea deal, five other counts against him were dismissed.
Lallemand is scheduled to be sentenced on January 22.
The charges are from an incident on March 29 while Crawford County deputies were arresting two people during a traffic stop at K-126 and Westfield Road.
Lallemand came driving at them at a high rate of speed and sideswiped both patrol vehicles.
The two deputies had to jump out of the way to keep from being hit.
They arrested Lallemand 7 miles down the road about 30 minutes later.
