The Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield are celebrating the grand opening of the Risdal Family Teen Center for Great Futures on August 1st, which will offer a variety of programs to help middle and high school students prepare for a successful future.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield opening new teen center

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- This Friday, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield are holding a celebration in a new space for teenagers.

The new Risdal Family Teen Center for Great Futures is set for its grand opening on August 1st at 10 a.m. at 804 W. Catalpa in Springfield, just north of Parkview High School. The event will include a program, building tour, and exhibits.

The organization says the center will serve as a community hub for middle and high school kids, offering a variety of programs to help them prepare for a successful future.

According to their website, those programs include:

  • The Arts
  • Workforce Readiness
  • Education
  • Sports & Recreation
  • Health & Wellness
  • Character & Citizenship

Spaces on the campus include study rooms, a media room, an ESports lounge, a library, a barber shop, a gym, a mental health clinic, a dance studio, a cafeteria and more.

On Monday, August 18th, a ribbon-cutting event will be held for the center. Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield have opened registration for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
