SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Get buttered up for a popular LGBT meme from Seattle that has found its way to the Queen City.

The GLO Center in Springfield is hosting "Gays Eating Garlic Bread" at the Nathanael Greene Park pavilion from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.

The free event encourages LGBTQIA+ people and allies to experience queer joy and carbs. It's classified as a "BYOGB" (bring your own garlic bread) function.

The concept was popularized after a flier for the first event of its kind went viral in Seattle last year. Other cities have since followed suit, and next month, Springfield will be added to the list of participants.
