SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri Sports Hall of Famer Art Hains delivered his thanks to Bears fans after his final broadcast Saturday vs. SMU.
After 45 years of broadcasting Missouri State University sports, his final broadcast was one of the most important football games in the program's history: its first home game since joining the FBS level.
Not only was Hains honored by students in the stands, but the university renamed the broadcast booth that Art had called countless games from. It has been dubbed "Art Hains Broadcast Booth," complete with a sign above the entrance door to the booth itself.

Sitting alongside Corey Riggs, Hains got to be on the call for what was a closer than game than many may have expected, with the Bears leading 10-0 after the first quarter against an SMU team that was ranked just 10 days before the matchup. Ultimately, the Bears would fall 28-10.

At the end of the postgame show, Art delivered a farewell address to Bears fans, thanking them for the privilege to be the voice of Missouri State sports for all these years.
