JOPLIN, Mo. — A Joplin car dealer wants to give back - by making sure someone in need has a dependable ride.
Midwest Motor Company owner Cameron Covert says he will be giving away six to eight vehicles in the coming weeks.
He says they'll be going to people in need of a dependable ride, whether that's for taking care of their family or making sure they can get to work.
Covert tells us the vehicles range from SUVs to minivans and cars - and will be serviced and checked out beforehand to make sure they're in good condition.
It was his own personal story that inspired him to start this program.
"This here, just kind of recently just went through a whole, kind of trajectory in life, and really kind of found a new appreciation for a lot of things, and from that kind of gave this perspective of, you know, being in a position where I'm at of a business owner, and the things I've been able to accomplish, how do you turn that into something where you're able to kind of give back to the community," said Cameron Covert, Midwest Motor Company owner.
Nominations can be e-mailed to nominate@mmcjoplin.com.
That nomination should include as much detail as possible about the person you're nominating and why you think they should be chosen.
Covert says they'd like to have nominations in by the first of the year.
