JOPLIN, Mo. — Wildcat Glades offered kids some Christmas fun this morning.
The Wildcat Glades Education Cottage played host to a "Christmas Crafts" event this morning.
Classes this morning and this afternoon brought 50 kids to Wildcat Glades - where they learned to make gnomes out of pine cones and other hand-made ornaments.
The classes were free - having been paid for by donations from the public.
Along with being fun, it also served as an educational opportunity.
"It was a lot of fun. The kids do like to learn a little bit, we try to throw in a little bit of facts here and there. We talked a little bit about pinecones and they are like sponges, they just absorb what we are throwing out there," said Robin Standridge, Wildcat Glades executive director.
The next class will be a preschool program about groundhogs as well as a Nature Explores program, both coming in January.
They will be free but registration is required.
