On Saturday, Dec. 7th, , the Missouri Democratic State Committee met to elect Party leadership to serve over 2025 – 2026 at the committee’s annual meeting.
The Missouri Democratic State Committee reelected Russ Carnahan as Chair and Yvonne Reeves-Chong as Vice Chair.
Glenda Bainbridge was reelected as Treasurer and Joshua Dunne was elected as the Committee’s Secretary.
Despite a national election that saw Democratic losses across the country, Missouri Democrats held their margins in the state legislature, enshrined abortion rights into Missouri’s constitution, and won the right for Missouri workers to earn sick leave.
“I am honored to have earned the trust and confidence of the State Committee to serve another term,” said Missouri Democratic Party Chairman Russ Carnahan.
This year, Missouri Democrats opened over 20 offices across the state, recruited more candidates than any year since 2008, reorganized at least seven county committees that had not been organized, and, for the first time in several cycles, every seat on the state committee has been filled.
“This cycle was just the beginning, and we still have a lot to do to rebuild a strong Democratic Party infrastructure,” Carnahan added. “But Missouri Democrats are more energized than ever and up to the task.”
