HICKORY COUNTY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) has released new details following a male who crashed his watercraft into two men on Saturday, September 13.
According to an MSHP Troop D social media post, law enforcement is currently searching for two individuals after one crashed their PWC into two men at Pomme de Terre Lake on Saturday evening.
The troop says the man who struck the two men is described as a white male around 25 to 30 years of age with black "shaggy" hair. He is reported to have been operating a black PWC with a blue seat.
The release reports a second operator who also harassed the men on Saturday. He is described as a white male, around 25 to 30 years old, with reddish hair, operating a white and orange PWC.
The victims told MSHP that one of their dogs was in the water when the two watercraft came up to them. The suspects began to harass the dog by operating in circles around it, the release says.
The victims and the suspects began to have a verbal altercation in the water. The man described with black hair was reported to have struck the victims with his PWC, and both suspects left the scene.
One of the victims was life-flighted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
MSHP encourages residents with information to call the Troop D Headquarters in Springfield at 417-895-6868.
