Shannon County man charged with rape of a minor

SHANNON COUNTY, Mo. — A man in Shannon County was arrested following an incident involving two minors on Monday, August 25.

According to online court dockets filed on Friday, Sept. 12, Stanley Wayne Stricklin Jr., born 1992, of Birch Tree, has been charged with first-degree rape or attempted rape.

The probable cause statement says that the Shannon County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of sexual misconduct.

The victim told law enforcement that Stricklin had taken her and a friend to the creek, where he kept giving them alcohol.

They later went to Stricklin's residence, where the victim says he kept telling her to "go downstairs with me." She says Stricklin sexually assaulted her while she was intoxicated.

A Shannon County Sheriff's Office social media post says they found Stricklin in Webster County after information they received. The Webster County Sheriff's Office assisted the department in taking the man into custody.

Stricklin is currently in the Shannon County Jail with a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled for an arraignment on Tuesday, September 16.
