Northampton Board of Health bans nitrous oxide sales to curb teen drug use

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The Northampton Board of Health unanimously voted to approve a new regulation restricting the sale of nitrous oxide within the city.
The regulation was voted in to combat the recreational use of the drug among teens and young adults.
This new law will go into effect on June 15th. Businesses that continue to sell the product will receive a penalty, ranging from monetary fines to suspension of sales privileges and potential criminal charges.
