SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man from Springfield pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday to illegally possessing fentanyl and 14 firearms.
The federal court says 51-year-old Proevine Lennox Robins pleaded guilty to one count of possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute and one count of possessing firearms to further a drug-trafficking crime.
In March 2023, Springfield law enforcement searched Robins' home and found more than a kilogram of fentanyl throughout the residence. Officers also found 14 firearms in the house, one of which was reported stolen, along with ammunition and $21,000 in cash.
Robins told investigators that he purchased about $9,000 in fentanyl and made multiple trips over the past 10 months to buy fentanyl. He also said he was selling an average of around two ounces of fentanyl a week at $1,000 to $2,000 an ounce for the past 10 to 12 months before officers searched his home.
Robins is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison without parole and a maximum of life in prison without parole, according to the federal court.
Robins will receive a sentencing hearing after the United States Probation Office finishes its presentence investigation.
