WEBB CITY, Mo. — The popularity of a local brush drop-off site is prompting some changes in the new year.
The Webb City Limb Yard has a massive stockpile of wood chips—enough to last them more than a decade.
City workers say commercial landscapers bring the biggest share of tree limbs, and that’s a problem. The operation is planning to cut back on what they’ll accept in the coming weeks.
"One commercial truck will carry in wood that every resident in the city could do in one day. I mean, some of those trucks are pretty large—and they come in from all over. All Four States, it’s not just Joplin metropolitan area haulers. We’ve seen them in here from every state," said Carl Francis, WC City Admin.
Starting January 1, the limb yard will only take brush from residents, while commercial haulers will have to find an alternate disposal site.
