Westbound I-44 nighttime right lane closure in Springfield slated for Friday

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday night, Aug. 22, the westbound I-44 right driving lane between U.S. Route 65 and Glenstone Ave. in Springfield will be closed until 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23.
Contractor crews will close the westbound I-44 right driving lane to install pipe crossing as an improvement with the Forward 44: Springfield Improvements in Greene County project.
A second pipe installation featuring a similar closure is scheduled for the week of Aug. 25.
The eastbound I-44 and westbound I-44 left lane will be in a head-to-head configuration with a median separating the two directions of traffic. Additionally, the northbound and southbound U.S. Route 65 to westbound I-44 ramps will be for safety reasons.
Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes, including the unsigned detour on Kearney Street and Missouri Route 744, or Mulory Road and Beaver Drive.
