Man charged with attempted rape and sodomy in Taney County

TANEY COUNTY, Mo. — A man has been charged following a report of sexual misconduct in Ridgedale on Monday, August 11.

According to online court dockets, Samuel T. Wilson, born 1989, of Baldwin, Kansas, has been charged with first-degree attempted rape and first-degree attempted sodomy.

The probable cause statement says that the Taney County Sheriff's Office responded to assist a detective involving a sexual assault incident with a 16-year-old victim.

The victim told law enforcement in an interview that Wilson had invited her to watch a movie outside on a patio. Wilson had offered the teen a beer multiple times, and she refused.

Wilson pinned her down on a couch and told the victim, "she wasn't going anywhere," according to the victim.

Law enforcement interviewed Wilson on Tuesday, August 12, and read his Miranda Rights and signed a waiver. He admitted to sexual misconduct with the victim and that he knew what he did was wrong.

Wilson is currently in the Taney County Jail with no bond.
