Agawam man charged with possession of child pornography

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - An Agawam man was charged with possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in Springfield on Friday.

Charging documents stated that 75-year-old Warren Messeck of Agawam was identified as an online peer-to-peer network user for downloading CSAM in 2021. Law enforcement searched Messeck's home and found over 40 electronic devices, including numerous hard drives.

Forensic examiners reportedly found over 10,000 CSAM files on six of Messeck's devices. He was charged by criminal complaint with one count of possession of child pornography.

This charge provides for a sentence of at least ten years and up to twenty years in prison. Messeck also faces a minimum of five years and up to life of supervised release, as well as paying a fine of up to $250,000.
