Another Macadoodles closes, reopening as new concept Casey's

REPUBLIC, MO - We're continuing to see changes on the convenience store front in the Springfield area. In recent weeks, Maverick has made headway rebranding its Kum Go stores, while closing three of its locations.  Now, another popular chain is also undergoing changes.  

Earlier this summer, we reported Macadoodles had closed its South Springfield location on Independence Street.  Now we are learning that the retailer has just closed its Republic store.  The location, on US 60, was purchased by Casey's and is being converted into a new concept store called “goodstop by Casey’s.”

According to CSP Magazine, goodstop locations are different from standard Casey's stores in that they don't have a full-service kitchen and offer limited prepared food options. 

The new store will be the second Casey's store in Republic. The other is located at the intersection of Main St. and Highway 174.

Macadoodles' remaining Springfield metro area store is on N. Kentwood near Glesntone Ave. and Interstate 44.

Ozarks First reached out to both Casey's and Macadoodles for details about the closures, but neither company has responded just yet.
