City of Springfield reschedules Storm Debris Volunteer Day
The Clean Green SGF Storm Debris Volunteer Day has been rescheduled to July 24, and Public Works will conduct neighborhood debris sweeps in City Council Zones 1-4 on specific dates.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Clean Green SGF Storm Debris Volunteer Day has been rescheduled to Thursday, July 24, according to the City of Springfield.
The volunteer cleanup event was originally scheduled for Thursday, July 17, but it was postponed due to safety concerns over forecasted weather.
Storm Debris Volunteer Day is to help residents move storm debris to the curb for when Public Works begins curbside debris pickups, which is separate from the volunteer day.
Everyone who requested debris assistance will still be on the list, but the deadline to request debris assistance has passed. Volunteers who signed up for July 17 will get a conformational email checking availability for the new date, and new volunteers can still visit Clean Green SGF to register.
The City of Springfield also has an updated schedule for when Public Works will conduct neighborhood debris sweeps:
- City Council Zone 1: August 11-15
- Zone 3: August 18-22
- Zone 2: August 25-29
- Zone 4: September 1-5
The City has the following notes for residents who want debris picked up:
- Make sure only organic/natural debris is on the curbside (limbs, branches, brush)
- Make sure debris is placed at the curb or nearest accessible location and is not blocking any sidewalks or driveways
- No registration is required
- Debris has to be ready by 7 a.m. on the first day of your City Council Zone's debris pickup week
