Howell County deputies arrest man for not registering as sex offender
Ron Baker, a 45-year-old man from Moody, Missouri, was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography in 2009.
HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Moody was arrested for not registering as a sex offender.
According to court documents, Ronn Baker, 45, faces charges of failing to register as a sex offender.
According to the probable cause statement, on July 15, deputies executed a search warrant for Baker at his grandmother's house at the 14000 block of State Route E after discovering he was listed as an absconder. When deputies asked Baker's grandmother if she knew why they were there, she said yes and explained that she had upset a friend, who then called the police on Baker.
Baker told police he thought his parole officer never told him to do that, and thought they would take care of that for him.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Baker was required to register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography in 2009.
A counsel status hearing has been scheduled for July 21.
