Locals beat the heat with ice cream treats

ENFIELD, Conn.. (WWLP) - With warm and humid weather on Friday, people were looking for ways to stay cool.
Local ice cream shops were the go-to spot.
Smyth's ice cream in Enfield says the line stretched around the corner. From soft serve to hard ice cream, and vegan flavors--they serve a cool treat for anyone. "I would say the Reese's Explosion..it's like peanut butter, Reese's pieces, peanut butter cups and whipped cream," says employee Anthony Deni.
Employees say the busiest hour is 7 p.m. Smyth's ice cream is open every day.
