Multiple fire departments battle blaze in Sparta

SPARTA, Mo. — A commercial building in Christian County has been damaged following a fire on Sunday, August 17.

According to a Sparta Fire Protection District social media post, multiple fire crews were dispatched to a structure fire at a large metal building in Sparta at 11 a.m. on Industrial Road on Sunday.

The fire began on the south end of the building of a powder coating and body shop, the post says.

One of the firefighters on the scene was transported to a hospital for heat exhaustion, but was released shortly later in the day.

The department was assisted by Ozark Fire Protection District, Logan Rogersville Fire Protection District, Nixa Fire Protection District, Highlandville Rural Fire Protection District, Strafford Fire Protection District, Battlefield Fire Protection District and Chadwick Rural Fire Protection District.
