ST. LOUIS – Christmas is a time for joyfulness and goodwill toward all. Several organizations across the St. Louis metro area are providing meals or food resources for underserved members of the community. We have put together a list of a few places offering such assistance:
The St. Louis Area Foodbank has more than 600 partners across 26 counties in the bi-state region, with information on pantries and upcoming food distribution events. For more information, call 314-292-6262.
The Community Action Agency of St. Louis County provides food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas to eligible families. This program partners with faith-based organizations in order to strengthen their ability to identify and serve families during the holiday season. The CAASTLC food pantry is open by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 314-446-4467 or email foodpantry@caastlc.org.
The Salvation Army provides grocery vouchers to families and individuals in need for a holiday meal. For more information, you can contact MID.ChristmasReceptionist@usc.salvationarmy.org or call 314-646-3000.
