Patrick Mahomes suffers ankle injury vs. Browns
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes suffered an ankle injury vs. the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes suffered an ankle injury vs. the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon.
The injury occurred midway through the the 4th quarter with the Chiefs up 21-7.
Mahomes was awkwardly tackled in between Browns defenders Dalvin Tomlinson and Mike Hall after releasing a pass. He limped to the sideline and did not return to the game.
Carson Wentz replaced Mahomes and finished the game.
Mahomes has had ankle problems before. He played through a high ankle sprain during the 2023 postseason after injuring it in the Divisional Round against Jacksonville.
Most recently, he limped off the field in Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after aggravating a previous ankle injury. He was able to return to that game.
The Chiefs ended up winning the game 21-7, moving to 13-1 on the season. Mahomes finished 19/38 with 159 yards and two touchdowns. They head to Houston to face the Texans next Saturday.
