Severe Storm Causes Widespread Damage and Power Outages

PALMER (WWLP) - Severe weather swept through the region Saturday afternoon, causing widespread storm damage.
According to the MEMA Power Outage Map, thousands of residents were without power across the state. As of 7:50 PM, more than 11,000 people were affected.
The eastern parts of Hampshire and Hampden Counties experienced the most significant impact. The town of Ware had over 3,500 residents without electricity at its peak, while nearby Palmer reported just over 1,000 residents affected.
