The next heatwave is around the corner
After a few days of pleasant weather, a heatwave is expected to hit the area mid-week, bringing temperatures up to the 90s and heat indices of 95-105 degrees.
Well, if you complained about the weather today, I don't know what more I can do. Sunny skies with only heating into the low 80s is about as good as it gets for August.
We will have one more nice day on Monday before these temperatures start to slowly warm back up. Now, tomorrow is going to be just a couple of degrees warmer than what we got today, but I doubt you will even notice the change. Most locations will be peaking in the lower to mid-80s.
Clouds will be increasing throughout the day, but rain is looking unlikely. A light shower or sprinkle may occur in isolated spots.
Tuesday will act as our transition day with temperatures warming back up before a heatwave locks in place for Wednesday.
The dreaded heat dome makes an unwelcome return in the middle of the week, bringing summertime heat and locking dry conditions in place.
Enjoy the last moments of this cooldown, especially since heat indices will fall between 95-105 degrees to end the week.
