CLIMAX SPRINGS, Mo. — Two people from Camden County have been criminally charged after a narcotics search in a residence revealed children were living and sleeping in feces-covered beds and rooms.
Jonathon Andrew Cunningham, born 2002, of Camdenton, and Jaime Lee Taylor, born 2002, of Climax Springs, are charged with three counts of felony first-degree child endangerment. Cunningham is also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The probable cause statement says law enforcement from the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force executed a narcotics search at a residence in Camdenton on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
During the search, law enforcement found a child was locked in a bedroom where there were brown smeared handprints visible on the walls. The room also smelled of feces and urine.
Another child was located and locked in the residence's second bedroom, where there were yellow dried marks on the walls that were consistent with urine. It smelled of feces and urine, as well.
Additionally, a third child was located in a room with 18 to 20 inches of trash and debris, including rotting food, animal feces, and dirty clothing covering the floor.
During the search of the house, law enforcement located methamphetamine.
Taylor is currently being held in the Camden County Jail with a $25,000 bond set. Cunningham is also being held in the Camden County Jail without bond.
