Overnight guardrail repairs on U.S. 65 and I-44 in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Some more road closures are happening tonight along U.S. 65 and I-44 in Springfield as work continues to improve these freeways.

Beginning at 10:30 p.m. tonight, the northbound U.S. 65 to east and westbound on-ramps to I-44 will be closed.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the overnight closures are due to contractor crews making repairs and improvements to the guardrails, which are an important safety measure, especially on these ramps.

There will be no sign detours, but signs and message boards will be there to help drivers who approach the closure.

Alternate routes are recommended for drivers, such as off Glenstone or Kansas Expressway.

The road ramp is expected to open back up at 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 7. It will then close again that same day at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on August 8.
