POLK COUNTY, Mo. — A Polk County woman has died following a fatal crash on Monday, August 18.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report, a 59-year-old Flemington woman has died following a two-vehicle car crash around 4:35 p.m. on Highway 83, 1.5 miles north of Rondo, on Monday.
MSHP says the crash occurred when a 62-year-old Flemington man driving a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 failed to yield at a stop sign.
The man's vehicle struck a 37-year-old Wheatland woman driving a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox with the 59-year-old woman as a passenger.
The 59-year-old woman was pronounced deceased on the scene. The next of kin has been notified.
The 62-year-old man and the 37-year-old woman were reported with serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.
This is the 79th fatality for MSHP Troop D in 2025.
