Westfield begins two year project to replace aging pipes

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Crews will break ground on a new project to replace cast iron pipe in the city.

Beginning Monday, work will start on Apple Blossom Lane. Westfield Gas and Electric will be working for the next two years to get rid of old aging pipes and replace them with new ones.

The $17 million project will replace nearly 22 miles of piping throughout the city. They say they will notify residents when work is set to happen in their area.
