CEDAR COUNTY, Mo. — A woman has been taken into custody following a multi-agency pursuit that started in El Dorado Springs on Saturday, July 12.
According to a Cedar County Missouri Sheriff's Office social media post, Lonnia Baker is facing charges of second-degree assault, resisting arrest by fleeing and careless and imprudent driving.
Baker is charged after a towing company attempted a repossession of her vehicle from a property in El Dorado Springs. Baker tried to run over the tow truck driver and fled the scene, traveling to Highway 32.
A deputy initiated a pursuit and later lost sight of Baker near Highway 97 and CC Highway.
The Stockton Police Department located Baker and attempted a traffic stop. Baker refused to stop and fled to Highway 39.
Baker later went north on Highway N, with speeds going up to 99 miles per hour on the wrong side of the road, running multiple vehicles off the road.
The pursuit went into Polk County, into Humansville and south into Business 13, where Baker pulled into a TZ Automotive. Baker was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Cedar County Jail.
The Cedar County Sheriff's Office, the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the Stockton Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol were all involved in the pursuit.
Baker is currently in Cedar County Jail with a $75,000 bond.
