SPRINGFIELD--If you've ever watched Ozarks First Tee, then you've seen more than a few battles on the links in the third and final leg of my summer golf series - Pinson vs. the Pro.
While these segments may look like they happen in fluid fashion, they're actually quite time consuming because of all the start-and-stop action that's required. The finished product usually comes out flawless, but having to be in charge of every phase, including hitting quality shots, in one take, is a bit daunting.
Luckily, the pros I play also have to go through the same out-of-rhythm motions, so we're on equal footing - from a competition standpoint. However, they're trained professionals, who've spent their careers mastering and teaching the fundamentals, so they are the favorite to win for a reason.
Facing those long odds is what excites and fuels me to try and at least keep up, if not beat them. We're both trying our best to hit the best shots and get the best score, but if you've ever tried to play golf, then you know it's hard enough to do when you're with your friends, let alone on camera performing for an audience.
Creating this ongoing series has been and always is a lot of fun. I've had way worse jobs in my life, so if I happen to lose to the pro, I'm not happy about it, but I'm definitely glad it doesn't impact my job status!
Hope you keep enjoying the summer series!
