Smoky haze impacting visibility and creating health concerns
Wildfire smoke from the Western U.S. and Canada is causing hazy skies and allergy problems in the middle and East of the country, with the smoke plume expected to thicken over the weekend before thinning out on Sunday.

If it's not one thing, it's another. The heat is behind us for now, but with the shift in the upper-level pattern, Western U.S. and Canadian wildfire smoke is getting dumped into the middle of the country and eventually the East.
This is making for hazy skies today. The smoke plume looks like it will thicken over our area on Saturday before thinning out on Sunday. This will make for hazy skies and may knock a degree off of afternoon highs. It will also contribute to problems for allergy sufferers, like itchy eyes and stuffiness.

With the flow being what it is into next week, we may continue to deal with waves of smoky haze.
